The Arlington County Democratic Committee’s School Board endorsement election will be held on a balmy Saturday next May. But the campaign got underway as the first snows of the season blanketed the region. Five challengers used the committee’s Dec. 5 meeting at Walter Reed Community Center to announce they would be seeking the two School Board seats on the ballot next November. Most ACDC officers running for re-election in January
Almost all of the current ACDC elected officers plan to seek another two-year term at the January 2 monthly meeting. Under requirements set by the Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA), all 134 local Democratic Committees in the state must “reorganize” every two years. This means all of ACDC’s elected officer positions are open.
Drive for the Emergency Winter Shelter Continues
Please bring the following items for the Arlington Emergency Winter Shelter to the January 2, 2008, ACDC meeting: toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving cream, razors, bath towels, blankets, sleeping bags, warm winter clothing in men’s large sizes. Used items should be clean and in good condition.
